Some character design sketches for a project I’m starting. Won’t go into too much detail, but the idea is a know-it-all alien tutors a bumbling cadet through space academy. I think I’m on the right track for the cadet (third drawing on top) but was stumped on the alien. I like a couple here, but need to explore further.

Hey, everyone! I know everybody’s all jazzed to get the Friday workday over and get crazy or funky fresh with their peeps. Have a great time, but be sure to recover from your hangovers by Saturday evening if you live in the LA area. Press Paws is having their gallery auction show the night of the 9th at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra. That piece that I posted before, that you’ve seen too many times, will be available for purchase alongside a ton of other wonderful things to hang on your nerd-loving walls. I’ve cajoled my LA resident brother into going in my stead and snapping photos. So if he loves me, you will see photos this weekend!

Hey, all. I’ve retooled certain aspects on my portfolio site. Added social networking icons (added linkedin), removed the out of date demo reel from the home page, replaced unwanted pieces with newer ones, and added a (currently) dead link to a new shop page, through etsy. That’ll be up and running soon-ish. I still have to settle on what to sell, and the design of the shop page. I’ll keep you posted. Have a lovely Sunday evening!

So a few months back I told you I would be working on a piece for a charity art auction called PRESS PAWS, raising funds for animals in need. I present to you that very piece. General Pepper is an underutilized character in an underutilized game series, if you ask me. If you’re interested in purchasing this signed and framed, one-of-a-kind print (I’m too afraid of Nintendo’s litigiousness to even think about selling any more for profit) and you happen to live in the LA area, head down to Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra on Feb. 9th. Wish I could make it and see all the other wonderful pieces on display!

Well, I have a gif loop all ready to go for you, but tumblr’s chronic failure of an uploader is not having it. It’s under the filesize and dimension limits, but it just doesn’t agree with the file. Must be some color issue. I’ll try to sort it out and get it up on or before New Year’s Day. Sorry folks!
